Jason Kenney's government has launched an inquiry into who funds groups that criticize Alberta’s oil industry.

Jason, Get a grip. Real people oppose this pipeline. There are so many things wrong with it, it’s hard to even start. Lets go with the city of 2.5 million it will threaten with any spills, destroyed salmon streams, SFU campus disaster, Skytrain tunnel collapse, schools affected, homes affected, bridges affected, and that earthquake we know is coming? This damn thing will just add to the disaster. This is only part of the issues, and just in the city. Really, GET a grip. Send it to the states, where they actually want it, or process it yourself, or better yet – leave it in the ground, so our kids have a world to live in. How about that?

We need to transition away from fossil fuels to avoid runaway climate change.

It is time for you and your Government to finally realize you need to diversify your economy and cut back on dependence of fossil fuels, you could focus on green energy sources for your Province’s needs as well as creating jobs for the future, because the opponents of the TMX are not going away, you can also forget about the pols showing 30% of B.C. people are against TMX, a group of 825 questioned do not represent 5 million in our Province, the opponents of TMX are lawyering up and the move is on to stop this out of date make work project.

Canadians are opposing you and will continue our fight against your fossil fuel folly. We are far more educated than you give us credit for we study read and learn and are very well aware that you have seen the science behind climate change and we will fight you on every avenue and we are growing.

I stand with the Natives and others. Who oppose these pipelines and other. Dirty energy projects these are

environment risks. You need to do more.

I believe that Canadians are smarter than you realize. We understand the risks involved in greater support for the oil and all extractive industries to our environment and the perils of ignoring the climate change crisis. It is imperative that we make bold decisions now for the future of our world as we know it. That is the only and most important concern to our world today and nothing else is comparable in importance to the next election.

Our air and land are being polluted to no purpose. Use the funds to promote renewable energy.

No access to unseeded territory. No more Tarsands killing Canada’s environment and First nations hunting grounds. Move on to clean energy. In Calgary it is windy and sunny at the same time. Keep the Bitumen in the ground. BC opposes , Tsleil-Waututh opposes, Musquem,and Squamish oppose. So it is a No Go.

The government has a legal duty to consult First Nations, meaningfully.


The Canadian government pledged to fully support the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). It calls for Indigenous groups to have the right to free, prior and informed consent before resource development projects proceed across their lands.


Anyone who wants to build a pipeline through Indigenous territory must have the consent of the title holders.

The majority does not rule and if one backyard says no this pipeline is not going through.

New court cases from First Nations have already been filed. This pipeline will not be built.

We keep taking and taking from the earth. We aren’t doing anything to help repair the damage we are doing. I stand with the protectors in resisting this pipeline.

Mr. Kenney, I am a working person, a parent, a settler on unceded Indigenous peoples’ lands that before first contact had been stewarded sustainably since time immemorial. I forfeit thousands of work hours as a self- employed landscaper and unpaid citizen-ctivist to oppose further fossil fuel expansion that the world’s climate scientists have warned is a fatal risk to a safe liveable climate for our children and all future generations. Canada is now heating at twice the rate of the rest of the world. Wildfires, flooding, crop failure, deglaciation from climate change is now become the new normal that you are refusing to see and take any responsibility for. I am a resident of the coast that is at increased risk of an inevitable catastrophic bitumen spill on the Salish Sea. The federal court of appeal acknowledged that even just the increased noise traffic from a 700% increase of tanker activity in the sonar environment of the endangered southern resident orcas will spell their extinction. The courts also ruled that the federal government approval for the Transmountain project failed to uphold constitutionally enshrined Indigenous rights to meaningful consultation. Nothing has changed since that time. Over half of BC first Nations still say no. Your governments’ willingness to trample internationally recognized standards of Indigenous rights and free, prior and informed consent protocols to ram through a massive expansion of tar sands infrastructure without consent at public expense in a climate emergency, is dumb, dangerous and immoral and I am proud to answer the question of your inquiry as to who opposes Transmountain: It is I and the dozens of Indigenous communities, municipalities, tens of thousands of sensible citizens and advocates for a safe planet, clean water, healthy ecosystems and mass public investment in a post- carbon economy and a just transition for workers and communities that are still opposed and will continue to resist until this project is finally defeated.

I am from Nova Scotia and am a grandmother who works with Indigenous Women. I lived in BC 48 years ago and know how critical the salmon are to so many species. Threatening the water ways and the increased oil tanker ships is not the wsy forward.

Mr. Kenney, there are many Canadians like me who respect Alberta and also our natural resources. I agree with Canada’s federal courts who have found there are reasons to delay or stop oil projects in Alberta. New jobs and appropriate training for them in the renewable resources industr could be a great fit for Albertans losing their jobs in the oil fields. Respect for indigenous opposition to these projects is also key to being a true Canadian.

Sir, I know you have Albertans’ welfare at heart, but tar sands is not the way to

achieve it. We are going through an environmental emergency and building a pipeline where we should divest from fossil fuels is not not the way forward.

From Climate Change to our Killer Whales, you have failed to satisfy a single one of our Very Canadian concerns. You have failed to calculate the costs of the damages arising from the emissions of this project, which you haven’t even included in your tallies. Moving the goalposts and utilizing an industry captured regulator, with a farcical process, did not satisfy any of your obligations to consult us, nor has it satisfied a single one of our scientists. You want to know who is funding the opposition to this catastrophic project? Canadians. Go ahead and waste more money on a witch hunt. Nobody is buying that, either.

Water is life, refine your own oil, where is the supposed market for low grade bitumen? Climates are changing weather you like it or not, a spill is disaster for everything that lives downstream and their is no consent. Not in my backyard, try so,ar or geothermal!,,,

Stop,pull your head out of the sand, wipe off the tar, and recognize the change in the climate that has already occured. We do not need the heavy oil, we do not need to waste our natural gas processing it and Alberta could do much better with geothermal and other renewable industries. We definitely do not need to waste capital building a pipeline that will never pay for itself.
