Jason Kenney's government has launched an inquiry into who funds groups that criticize Alberta’s oil industry.
We'll save you some time, Premier. It's us.
Let Alberta Premier Kenney know who we are and why we donate and take action to stop the Trans Mountain Pipeline and fight the climate breakdown. If we get enough, we'll send them to his office.

We ask that you take the political hard road…take all that effort/energy that goes into consistently deceiving & cheating your followers into believing there is no need for change because there is no crisis and start doing the moral, the harder thing. Help your followers accept our new reality of very real climate crisis. Lead them towards energy alternatives and retraining in green energy jobs, towards self sufficiency within evolving energy initiatives. Suggest to your supporters that things do change especially where humans are concerned and you & your followers must ‘change away from carbon based energy’ or lose the very way of life they think they are protecting.
We ask Mr. Kenney for you to be a strong leader & do the hard thing…the right thing.
Yes, I oppose TMX. I am a 75-year-old woman on a not very large income who cares about the life on this planet: the trees, the water, the animals, and of course our grandchildren. I am not a foreign magnate. I am not a well-funded non-profit. And yes, I send money to those I think are best able to fight this climate crisis. I will continue to do that. Count on it. I care, too, about Albertans and the need for transition jobs as we phase out our dependence on fossil fuels. Count on that, too.
You said you wanted to know who funds the opposition to the TransMountain pipeline. I’ll come clean because it’s not a secret: I’m one of the thousands of citizens who made a donation to that effect, because this initiative goes against everything that the Canadian government vowed to do in the Paris Accord. Is the funding for the campaigns that support the pipeline as transparent and in line with these promises?
I do not want the Trans Mountain Pipeline. Please protect wildlife and the environment and do not build the pipeline.
Sincerely,
Barbara Inkster
Dear Premier,
Maybe it is time that someone establish a Board of Inquiry into the finances of your party as well as the amount that is spent each year, by the Oil Patch to, to lobby and influence your government. I firmly believe that Alberta can remain a Centre of Excellence for Energy, however the energy to which I refer is Green Energy. Instead of wasting taxpayers’ hard-earned money on a futile investigation, use this money to begin your efforts to transition Alberta’s economy towards Green Technology.
Every rancher knows when he/she is flogging a dead horse and I believe that you know it too. Its time to stop the stonewalling, as a lackey to Corporate Oil and show some real leadership! Its time to” take the bull by the horns” and ensure a future for the up-coming generations of Albertans. Stop this nonsense now! YOU HAVE THE POWER. DO THE RIGHT THING!
