Highlights from the Flotilla to Protect the Inlet and Stop Kinder Morgan

The Protect the Inlet Flotilla hosted water protectors and families from across the Salish Sea on Saturday July 14, as hundreds gathered to paddle together to stop Kinder Morgan's diluted biutmen pipeline and tanker project.

Water Protectors paddled from the ancient village site of Whey-ah-Wichen, at Cates Park in North Vancouver across Tsleil-waut, Burrard Inlet, flanked the razor-wire fence Kinder Morgan put up without consent and followed Elder Ta’ah Amy George in a ceremony to bless the water. #WaterIsLife #StopKM #ProtectTheInlet

    Thank you Doreen for the kind uplifting and well thought sentiment. For offering purposeful solutions. If many of us pick up this mantle and carry it knowing our brother and sisters Indigenous and Non have our backs, we are very strong. For if we don’t stand up to atrocities like the impending pipeline expansion, the power brokers will just keep coming. Their truths are what they want them to be on any given day, their feet don’t feel the earth, their lungs the pure air of the forests, inlets and deep skies. From the Thompson River, through the Fraser Valley to the natural beauty of Burnaby Mountain and Burrard Inlet, up to Squamish and the coastal horizon going on forever. If any of these names or places has touched you in some way, this your fight too.
