Jason Kenney's government has launched an inquiry into who funds groups that criticize Alberta’s oil industry.
We'll save you some time, Premier. It's us.
Let Alberta Premier Kenney know who we are and why we donate and take action to stop the Trans Mountain Pipeline and fight the climate breakdown. If we get enough, we'll send them to his office.

It’s never to late to become the person that made an outstanding, positive change for Canada and its environment.
As a responsible Canadian (BC) citizen, I feel duty-bound to keep informed & do my part re. Govt. decisions that affect our environment/ future/ health etc.
As such I must ask that you refrain from wasting tax dollars on a bogus investigation into those opposed to the TMX pipeline/ tar sands expansion, as if such opposition is somehow unlawful or wrong!?
What iS WRONG = carrying out a campaign to vilify law-abiding citizens exercising their rights to expose & oppose questionable Govt. decisions – in particular, ones that demonstrate egregious indifference to the very people whose best interests you are honor-bound to protect:
I.E.
Your disgraceful support of corporate polluting [fossil-fuel] interests over the wellbeing of ordinary citizens is what needs to be questioned, along with your refusal to conduct in good faith your due diligence vis-a-vis that industry’s known harms..
(Everyone – even the industry shills to which you pander -knows the AB oilsands are a foreign-funded testament to eco-damage on a colossal scale: why make it worse while disdaining good BCers trying to protect their basic livelihoods? Who are you to decide our province isn’t worth saving, just because yours has been sacrificed for the love of lucre/ trucks – neither of which helps reduce emissions/ meet global commitments?) Expanding those activities will obviously exacerbate the climate-related ruin we all face today.
Your decisions prove you cannot be trusted as a responsible leader going forward.
I unwaveringly support Coast Protectors & aLL those opposed to TMX/fossil-fuels expansion, knowing there are better science-based solutions we can work on, together, to bring about a sustainable thriving future..
(Pandering to the polluters & vilifying engaged, responsible citizens only delays the urgent action needed to protect our biodiversity & ecological balance so key to a sustainable future!?)
Please do the right thing & quit wasting taxpayers’ money/time on ridiculous, shameful schemes that jeopardize Canada’s security & undermine your credibility as a responsible leader!
Thank you for your time.
Sarah Chesterman
No more fossil fuel development!!
So, please put me on your list of people who donate money to groups that you disapprove of because they are concerned about the climate emergency and the rights of the BC First Nations who are jeopardized by the TM expansion.
Yes, I oppose TMX. I am a 75-year-old woman on a not very large income who cares about the life on this planet: the trees, the water, the animals, and of course our grandchildren. I am not a foreign magnate. I am not a well-funded non-profit. And yes, I send money to those I think are best able to fight this climate crisis. I will continue to do that. Count on it. I care, too, about Albertans and the need for transition jobs as we phase out our dependence on fossil fuels. Count on that, too.
You said you wanted to know who funds the opposition to the TransMountain pipeline. I’ll come clean because it’s not a secret: I’m one of the thousands of citizens who made a donation to that effect, because this initiative goes against everything that the Canadian government vowed to do in the Paris Accord. Is the funding for the campaigns that support the pipeline as transparent and in line with these promises?
Your children and grandchildren will look at you in sadness and disbelief. There is a climate crisis and there are people that will be able to reach their end of their life knowing they did everything they could to help save our environment for the following generations, and then there will be people like you, who will realize you made a few corporations rich at the cost of millions of people lives and so many unique ecosystems. I only wish you could see the mistakes you are making today rather than tomorrow. Your children, my children, they will thank you. But in the meantime, while you continue to promote industry for your own self-interest and interest of one province’s economy, I will do everything in my power to stop the transmountain pipeline.
